Adoption: Liberia's great need

This is just so sad :(

Liberia

Liberia is a country in West Africa. The Liberian people are a mix of tribal people and ancestors of American slaves sent back to Liberia after the United States freed the slaves. They named the capital after James Monroe, "Monrovia". Liberia means "Liberation/Freedom". There was 14 years of civil war in Liberia and now they are rebuilding a new nation and continue to have strong ties with the United States. Some interesting facts of why you may want to consider adopting from Liberia are:
One in eight babies die at birth and nearly half the children die before they are five years old. These numbers are appalling since it is estimated that 43% of the 3-½ million people are children under 14.
The unemployment rate in Liberia is a staggering 85%. 80% of the people live in extreme poverty.Malnutrition is wide spread especially among children.
Most medical facilities have been destroyed, looted or damaged preventing these precious children from receiving basic and necessary care.
