Naomi update
Naomi is doing very well. Her feeding tube is out and she is eating and drinking everything by mouth. She can eat most everything, except for really hard dry things like chips of any kind etc. We also avoid really spicy things. She is on Zantac twice a day. She has been on the pump at night for some time, but she was getting way to many calories so we ended that. The balloon in her tube also had a small hole in it, the tube fell out. Replacing it would not have made any sense, as she eats fine by mouth and introducing a new tube could cause infection. The stoma where her tube was has been closing up pretty quick, the initial leaking was annoying.
Well thats an update in a nutshell. She is a very happy normal kid and is thrilled to go out to eat and eat fish and chip! Praise God!
With Love,
Jen

Tooth Fairy
The tooth fairy came last night! Naomi lost tooth number 2! She was very sad last month when she lost her first tooth and the Doc threw it in the trash, claiming it was a health hazard. So if tooth was really loose and she asked me to pull it out. I pulled and it came right out. She in a baggy it went under her pillow. Last night as she slept I replaced it with 4 quarters. She was very happy "Mommy I am reech"!

Eating
Naomi had her appointment this week. It was her 4 week check up. It has been a month since she had her surgery. From the testing and contrast x-ray studies the doctors have done, the surgery has been completely sucessful! Naomi was given the all clear to eat and drink. She can now drink her milk and eat soft and wet foods. She can have a lot of different things but has to make sure she eats very slow, chews everything very well and drinks as the food goes down. She has been doing this for a week now and is doing great! She has eaten many different things and is thrilled. She has had no digestion issues either...thank the Lord.
Naomi is still on the feeding pump at night and will be for a little while longer. She is encouraged to eat, but not to over do it. She hates the feeding pump, but since being on it she has gained weight and she gets sick of drinking the chalky pediasure. Over all though she is doing amazing and is just SO happy!
Can you tell she put on a few pounds??
The result of Naomi's handy work!
My Sweet 2 year old!
